Shandong Enter New Material Co.,Ltd.-EU may restrict the use of high-efficiency flame retardant DECABDE

Recently, the subcontinent committee asked the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) to prepare a "restriction proposal" for a highly efficient flame retardant, decabrominated diphenyl ether (eBE); the proposal mainly restricts ecaE and the production, use and sale of products containing the substance.
The ECH stated that there was insufficient information on the feasibility of ECABDE restrictions; it would like to know what challenges the industry might face if the use of eCBD as an alternative substance was mandated and how long it would take to address that challenge. The organization has accepted comments on the DECABIE “restriction proposal” by December 15, 2013, to collect information and evidence on the feasibility of replacing this flame retardant. The proposal is expected to be introduced on August 1 this year.
Decabde is a high-efficiency flame retardant that can prevent items from being ignited. It is mainly used in plastics, polymer materials, composite materials, textiles and other substances. Recent animal studies have shown that the substance may have adverse health effects such as neurotoxicity and liver problems.
